Midas Hotel holds 1st Quarter CSR with SOS Philippines
Midas Hotel has chosen SOS Children’s Villages Philippines as its first quarterly Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) beneficiary under its “Midas Cares” program. The Hotel’s department heads and staff went to SOS Philippines’ headquarters in Ayala Alabang last March 29 and held activities that built rapport and friendship between them and the SOS Philippines families.
Mr. Admore Alzate, SOS Philippines Corporate Relations Head, welcomed the Midas Hotel team with an orientation. Afterwards, the participants went to the different houses of SOS Philippines families for a short introduction of each participant and a little bonding over cooking and sharing of values formation.
Last December, the Hotel partnered with SOS Philippines to support its community of families and raised funds for the benefit of SOS Philippines. The Hotel collected every Php100 from every room booked under its It’s a Beary Midas Christmas promo. Almost 300 rooms were booked from December to January.
After the immersion, Ms. Lily Santos-Adrid, General Manager, spearheaded the giving of donation. “We promote caring for others more than providing tangible gifts or material things. This is the heart of our internal Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project — the Midas Cares program. Through this program, Midas employees make “giving” more valuable and meaningful to the people it seeks to serve,” she said.
Ms. Gemma Goliat, SOS National Director and Mr. Alzate received the proceeds from “A Beary Midas Christmas” room promo, together with the monetary contribution from all Midas Hotel employees and the SOS Bahay donation box collections placed at the Midas Hotel lobby.
SOS Philippines is a private, non-political, non-denominational organization that provides long-term family-based care to children in need. With the support of their friend and partners, they work to ensure that each child will grow up in a loving home.
